This significant investment aims to transition from a hospital focused on physical healing to a national infrastructure designed to integrate "health" into every breath and daily life. Located in the potential-rich area of Lumpini, it is set to fully open in 2030.

01 | Vision Adjustment to Drive Health Ecosystem

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS) has launched the WellEra Bangkok project, a collaboration and mega-project aimed at creating a Wellness-Integrated Ecosystem that systematically combines expertise in Healthcare, Scientific Wellness, Preventive Medicine, design innovation, and world-class services.

After more than five decades, starting from a 50-bed hospital to becoming Thailand's largest health network, BDMS has significantly expanded its role from being a caregiver during illness to creating an environment that enables people to proactively manage their health before diseases arise.

Dr. Paramaporn Prasatthong-Osoth, the CEO of BDMS, stated that the factors determining people's health are not solely within the healthcare system but encompass all aspects of lifestyle, including diet, sleep, movement, mental state, and environment. WellEra aims to bring medical knowledge closer to people's daily lives.

02 | Strategy Transitioning from Lifespan to Healthspan

Current statistics indicate that while the average human lifespan is increasing, the duration of good health (Healthspan) is not keeping pace. The average lifespan in Thailand is approximately 75.3 years, but the healthy life expectancy is only 65.8 years, meaning most people spend nearly 10 years of their lives dealing with illness.

The main goal of WellEra is to bridge this gap, extending the Healthspan to be as close as possible to actual lifespan, allowing people to live quality lives, with potential and happiness alongside their families for longer.

03 | Four Pillars of WellEra Ecosystem

On a development area of over 2 million square feet, the project has seamlessly divided the ecosystem into four main components, as shown in the table below:

04 | 6S+ Strategy & Surrounding Drive Strategy

The project brings over 20 years of knowledge in Preventive Medicine to refine a lifestyle and environmental strategy across six key areas:

Sleep & Strong

Focus on deep quality sleep alongside building strength and agile movement.

Soul & Smart

Promoting mental well-being for inner peace, integrating smart technology to support daily living.

Social & Span

Creating social interactions to deliver positive energy, with the ultimate goal of extending the duration of good health.

Additionally, the concept of 6S+ Surrounding is expanded by controlling physical factors that directly impact humans, such as air, water, light, sound, temperature, and humidity within buildings, to meet global standards including LEED Gold, Fitwel 3-Star and WELL Platinum.

05 | Global Integration and Humanity

The architecture of the project is developed under the concept of "Smile Building", in collaboration with the global firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), using the building's gentle curves to reflect smiles and the warm Thai welcome, while integrating Human-Centric and Biophilic Design to harmoniously connect green spaces from Lumphini Park to urban living areas.

In terms of service, the collaboration between BDMS and Capella Hotel Group redefines "Luxury Living" not just by the luxury of materials but by the quality of breathing, sleeping, safety, and sustainable health care capabilities, propelling Thailand towards becoming a Wellness Destination of the World in a true sense.
